Abstract
The low-temperature orientationally ordered crystalline phase of fulle rene C-70 is investigated in the approximation of intermolecular Lenna rd-Jones (12-6) potential. A calculation of the vibrational spectrum f or solid C-70 in the field of external phonon modes is carried out. Th e sound velocities were found in the longwave approximation on the per turbation theory. The obtained results are in satisfactory agreement w ith available experimental data on the X-ray diffraction, Raman spectr a and elastic properties. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
