Abstract
A screening method for determination of pesticides based on hydrolysis is reported which is applicable to the determination of many organoph osphorus pesticides. The method involves the hydrolysis of pesticides under alkaline conditions at 60-70 degrees C temperature. The organoph osphorus pesticides are hydrolysed to o,o-dimethylphosphate and o,o-di ethylthiophosphate. These phosphorus containing hydrolysed products ar e then determined by spectrophotometric method using molybdenum blue m ethod.
