CHEMICAL-ANALYSIS OF LIVISTONA-CHINENSIS SEED PULP

Livistona chinensis is an ornamental plant and it is commonly known as Palm tree. An edible oil is extracted from different varieties of pal m trees throughout the world, especially in countries of south east As ia. An evidence available in literature deals only with the fatty acid content of palm oil. The present study deals with the approximate che mical composition in term of total liquid, protein, carbohydrate and a sh content. Mineral content were determined from ash sample of seed pu lp. Water soluble vitamins, free sugar and amino acids were determined from the water extract of Livistona chinensis seed pulp.
