Abstract
Some -aryl-7,8-dimethoxy-1,2,3-benzotriazin-4-(3H)-ones (3a-g) were pr epared in moderate to good yield by nitrosation of N-aryl-2-amino-3,4- dimethoxybenzanilides (2a-g). The latter were obtained by hydrazine hy drate graphite reduction of corresponding N-aryl-2-nitro-3 4-dimethoxy benzanilides (1a-i). The IR of these compounds have been discussed.
