CYSTIC DUPLICATION OF THE RECTUM - REPORT OF 2 CLINICAL CASES

The authors present two case reports of cystic rectal duplication whic h presented as rectal prolapse. Two girls, caucasian race, 8 months an d 12 years old, went to the emergency department because of a rectal p rolapse. After the diagnosis surgical excision was performed by transa nal approach. The post-operative period was short and uneventful. Hist ological examination confirmed a rectal cystic duplication.
