Abstract
Uterine biopsies from mares were studied histochemically using the AB/ PAS method for the evaluation of the secretory activity of acidic muco polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycanes) and glycogen after Pneumabort-K vaccination of 5 mares and after immunisation against Erysipelothrix r husiopathiae antigen of eight animals. An increase in the secretion of acidic mucopolysaccharides as observed with a concomitant decrease of PAS positive substances. These changes indicate a uterine responsiven ess so factors other than pathological changes in the uterus.
