BENZOIC-ACID DERIVATIVES FROM STOCKSIA-BRAHUICA

Two new benzoic acid derivatives, ethyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzoat e and 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-benzoic acid, have been isolated from the aer ial parts of Stocksia brahuica. They have been identified by mass and NMR spectroscopy. 3,4,5-Trihydroxybenzoic acid, 3,3,5-trimethoxybenzoi c acid, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and n-propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate have a lso been isolated for the first time from this source.
