Abstract
The object of this paper is to discuss aspects of a connection between the nitrogen fertilization and the emission of nitrous oxide. It coul d be shown by various results from the literature that the amount of N 2O-emission doesn't primary depend on the type of applicated fertilize r, but it is more a result of the release rate from both processes, th e nitrification and denitrification. Both, the N2O-emission included a re influenced by a number of natural factors Like climate, soil and so il properties but also by anthropogenic one like soil management or pl ant cultivation. Finally some possibilities are represented contributi ng to a reduction of N2O-emissions. As a result many authors present f avor the use of nitrification inhibitors.
