H-1 NMR spectra were determined for D2O solutions of the triblock copo
lymer Synperonic F87 as a function of temperature, over the range 4-44
degrees C. The data show that aggregation begins at a lower temperatu
re than micellisation, involving primarily the methylene groups of the
EO regions of the polymer and the methyl groups of the PO regions. Th
e data further show that when the aggregates disappear at higher tempe
ratures, leaving only micelles, the methylene groups of the PO regions
