Abstract
The purpose of Nonviolent or Empathic Communication Training is to fac ilitate the flow of information necessary for people to work cooperati vely and resolve differences effectively. Such training is widely used in medical communities where the communication with patients and the cooperation between team members are of critical importance for the ef fectiveness of the treatment. Communication skills are of particular i mportance for health care providers dealing with patients having chron ic diseases such as haemophilia. In addition to the difficulties inher ent to the chronicity of the disease, the HIV contamination has dramat ically impaired the relationships between patients and health care pro viders, creating a lot of pain, still alive in both parties. The purpo se of this presentation is to offer to health care providers and patie nts some tools to deal with their feelings and restore effective, comp assionate and fulfilling communication.
