Hlk. Coleman, GENERAL AND MULTICULTURAL COUNSELING COMPETENCE - APPLES AND ORANGES, Journal of multicultural counseling and development, 26(3), 1998, pp. 147-156
This investigation tests the hypothesis that perceptions of general an
d multicultural counseling competence are distinct constructs. The fin
dings question the validity of the assumption that general and multicu
ltural counseling competence are separate constructs-particularly for
certain clients. The implications of these findings for future researc
h and counselor training are discussed.
