Dg. Penninck et St. Finnbodner, UPDATES IN INTERVENTIONAL ULTRASONOGRAPHY, The Veterinary clinics of North America. Small animal practice, 28(4), 1998, pp. 1017
Interventional ultrasonography, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and
intraoperative interventions, is a rapidly developing field in both h
uman and veterinary medicine. Growing expertise and significant improv
ements in the technology have contributed to the innovation of numerou
s ultrasound-assisted procedures. Ultrasound-guided biopsy and fine-ne
edle aspiration are now commonly performed. New techniques and the ind
ications for other procedures such as cavity drainage, indwelling cath
eter placement, and intraoperative procedures are presented.
