Wh. Hai et al., MOTION OF SOLITONS IN DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC-ACID (DNA) DOUBLE HELICES WITHDISSIPATION, Communications in Theoretical Physics, 29(4), 1998, pp. 627-632
Under the first-order approximation, the general soliton solution of t
he plane base rotator model is obtained using the direct perturbation
method, when taking the dissipation interaction in the DNA double heli
ces dynamics into consideration. The stability condition of system lea
ds to a relation among the soliton velocity the coupling constants and
the damping factor. It imposes limits to the maximum value of the sol
iton velocity and energy. An estimation of the value of the dissipatio
n factor is given using recently published experimental data. Some pra
ctical problems such as the energy transmission and the semiconservati
ve replication of B-DNA are discussed in detail.
