Agglomeration of gibbsite (Al(OH)(3)) crystals is an important stage o
f the Bayer process. In the present study, using a crystallizer workin
g at constant supersaturation with time, we determine the agglomeratio
n kinetics of gibbsite as a function of different experimental paramet
ers. The effect of the crystallization temperature, supersaturation, s
eed mass, stirring rate and seed size is investigated. An interpretati
on of the results is proposed, they are also compared with previous re
