Abstract
The photoionization dynamics of C60 has been studied by means of synch rotron radiation. The findings for single-photon ionization covering a n energy range of 15 - 120 eV are presented and contrasted with other experiments recently performed to elucidate the fragmentation and the ionization behaviour of fullerenes as a result of relatively high ener gy impact. In this context, special emphasis is paid to the temperatur e dependencies, the actual ionization mechanism and the fragmentation behaviour of ionic C60.
