Purpose The study of obstructive chronic pulmonary disease in horses c
ould represent a good spontaneous sample of pulmonary disease study in
man. Materials and methods A study exploring, by electrosyneresis, pr
ecipitins of directed against Aspergillus fumigatus and total extracts
of molded hay in 64 sick horses with obstructive chronic pulmonary di
sease and 49 control horses. In parallel way, molded hay cultures were
carried our on Sabouraud without actidione and Czapeck media. Results
-Conclusion The serological results, obtained were less significant wit
h Aspergillus fumigatus than extracts of molded hay (positive average
score is statisticly higher with sick horses than control ones). The m
ycological study of molded hay shows the richness of flore (presence o
f muschrooms of the kinds: Aspergillus, Penicillium, Alternaria, Rhizo
pus, Fusarium, Mucor; Acremonium, Trichoderma, Sepedonium and Scopular
iopsis. The kinetic of these precipitins seems to follow a seasonal va
riation, this could be related to fungi ecosystem.
