Abstract
The susceptibility of 11 Candida strains (4 C, albicans, 2 C, tropical is, 1 C. parapsilosis and 4 C. krusei), which minimal inhibition conce ntrations (MIC) have been previously defined by National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards, Vilanova, Pa, USA, was studied simulta neously by E test (MIC) and Fungitest (categories: susceptible, interm ediate or resistant). E test or Fungitest results obtained with flucon azole were similar to those obtained by the NCCLS method. With itracon azole, the results obtained by E test were similar to those obtained b y the NCCLS method, contrary to Fungitest results.
