Abstract
An extension of the micromagnetic fluctuation theory is used to model the thermal excitations of spin wave modes in Co based magnetic/non-ma gnetic (M/NM) multilayers. Results are obtained for samples with conti nuous and granular magnetic layers, clearly demonstrating thermal exci tations of increasing amplitude and involving higher frequencies as th e temperature is increased. Also, the response is greater at lower val ues of the external field.
