Abstract
The essential oil from the aerial parts of Tagetes filifolia Lag. (Ast eraceae) from Cusco Department, Peru, was obtained by hydrodistillatio n in 0.47% (v/w) yield related to dry weight. By GC-MS analysis 57 com pounds, accounting for 99.2% of the oil, were identified. Phenylpropan oids constitute the great majority of the oil, with cis-anethole (68.2 %) and estragole (13.7%) as main constituents. (C) 1998 John Wiley & S ons, Ltd.
