Abstract
The effects of controlled additions of boron and phosphorus to nickel- based superalloy IN-718 have been investigated by atom probe field ion microscopy in specimens subjected to a long term heat treatment (6 mo nths at 704 degrees C). The predominant gamma, gamma' and gamma '' pha ses were found to be depleted in boron and phosphorus, and no segregat ion was detected at gamma-gamma' and gamma-gamma '' interfaces. Signif icant phosphorus enrichments were found in the minor sigma and Laves p hases. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
