Abstract
It is demonstrated that the radioactivity of Re-188, which is of curre nt interest for the use in therapeutic applications in the field of nu clear medicine, can be precisely determined by Cherenkov counting usin g conventional scintillation counters, ranging from as low as backgrou nd level to a 10(4) Bq level. Parameters such as sample volume, type o f the counting vial, etc., which may affect the detection; efficiency of this method, are systematically examined and evaluated.
