Abstract
Solutions of Sm-153 were standardised by 4 pi(PC)-gamma counting and a
n intrinsic Ge spectrometer was employed to measure the relevant gamma
-ray emission probabilities. Measurements were also made using a re-en
trant high pressure ionisation chamber to accurately determine the hal
f-life. The results are P gamma(103 keV) = 0.285(5) gamma's per decay
and t(1/2) = 46.285(4) h. (C) 1998 The National Physical Laboratory. P
