Abstract
This paper discusses the possibility of using liquid-crystal elements based on the controllable birefringence effect in the positive-feedbac k regime as multifunctional optoelectronic devices of optical informat ion-processing systems. A number of logical operations have been imple mented, as well as the optical-bistability and differential-amplificat ion regimes. (C) 1998 The Optical Society of America.
