J. Simonet et al., ON THE CATHODIC BEHAVIOR OF TETRAALKYLAMMONIUM CATIONS AT A PLATINUM-ELECTRODE, Journal of electroanalytical chemistry [1992], 451(1-2), 1998, pp. 5-9
Cathodic reductions involving solid metallic electrodes, like tin or l
ead, show the formation of unstable materials in which the presence of
ammonium cations co-existing with negatively charged metal particles
within the global structure has been fully demonstrated. Until now, si
milar behaviour of ammonium cations towards platinum cathodes has not
been reported. This preliminary paper describes such cation behaviour
in very dry solutions of dipolar aprotic solvent (e.g. dimethylformami
de (DMF)) at freshly polished surfaces. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
