T. Fujino et al., SIMULTANEOUS DIFFERENTIAL DETERMINATION OF MIXED ORGANIC AND INORGANIC ACID BY NONAQUEOUS CONDUCTOMETRIC TITRATION WITH SODIUM TETRAHYDROBORATE, Bunseki Kagaku, 47(7), 1998, pp. 447-450
This study concerned the simultaneous differential determination of mi
xed inorganic and organic acid by nonaqueous conductometric titration
with sodium tetrahydroborate, which was dissolved in N,N-dimethylforma
mide (DMF). The inflection points were found on conductometric titrati
on curves of a mixed solution of organic and inorganic acid in DMF; th
ey were caused by a difference in the acidity or reactivity. The acid
concentration of each of mixed acid was successfully determined simult
aneously by the present method. We attempted to identify the ions in t
he DMF solution and the resulting precipitates during the course of ti
tration by fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB-MS) and fourie
r-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The determination limit was
about 0.01 M by this method.
