Bx. Gu et H. Wang, STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF SPUTTERED FCC CO(111) FILMS GROWN ON A GLASS SUBSTRATE, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 187(1), 1998, pp. 47-50
FCC Co(1 1 1) films grown on glass substrate were prepared by sputteri
ng technique. The structure and magnetic properties were studied. X-ra
y diffraction studies show the Co films have a FCC structure with the
(1 1 1) direction perpendicular to the film plane. The vibrating sampl
e magnetometer yields a magnetization of 1230 emu/cm(3) and coercivity
of 100 Oe at room temperature. Ferromagnetic resonance measurements w
ere carried out at 9.77 GHz at room temperature. Spin waves were obser
ved. The relation of resonant field H-n with the mode number n obeys t
he so-called n(2) law. The exchange constant was determined to be A(Co
) = 3.0 x 10(-6) erg/cm. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res
