Krj. Thomas et al., A POLYMORPH OF BIS(2-PYRIDYLMETHYL)AMINE IRON(III) CHLORIDE, Acta crystallographica. Section C, Crystal structure communications, 54, 1998, pp. 741-743
The structure of the orthorhombic modification of an iron(III) chlorid
e complex of bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, a potential tridentate N-donor
ligand, has been determined, i.e. is(2-pyridylmethyl)amine-k(3)N]tric
hloroiron(III), [FeCl3(C12H13N3)]. The iron(III) has a rhombically dis
torted octahedral coordination environment made up of all three N atom
s of the capping tridentate ligand and three Cl- ions.
