Using simulation techniques that we discussed in a previous work, we c
reate random dense hard-sphere systems above the freezing point (i.e.,
along the metastable branch) and measure key quantities Chat characte
rize the structure for such high densities. These include certain stat
istics of the void space, nearest-neighbor statistics, and the mean co
ordination number. Our numerical results turn out to be generally in v
ery good agreement with recent theoretical predictions.
