Abstract
We consider here the effect of temporal correlations on the transmissi on of spike trains in an integrate-and-fire neuron. We find that if th e noisy input spike train is variable enough, the signal-to-noise rati o can display more than one peak as a function of the noise strength. This result is analyzed in terms of a simple probabilistic description of the problem.
