NEW COMBINATIONS IN PARMELIOID GENERA (ASCOMYCOTINA, PARMELIACEAE)

In preparation for updating Mason E. Hale's ''List of Epithets in the Parmelioid Genera,'' we have identified 27 species epithets that need transfer into generic segregates from Parmelia s. late. Most of these epithets were retained in Parmelia when other members of their groups were transferred into one of the more than thirty generic segregates d escribed or resurrected in the past twenty-five years. New combination s are proposed in ten genera of the lichen family Parmeliaceae: Flavop armelia, Hypotrachyna, Myelochroa, Neofuscelia, Paraparmelia, Parmelin opsis, Parmeliopsis, Parmotrema, Punctelia, and Rimeliella.
