Abstract
The new species L. arafurensis Lumbsch & Elix, L. austrointumescens Lu mbsch & Elix, L. contractuloides Lumbsch & Elix, L. mobergiana Lumbsch & Elix, and L. placodiolica Lumbsch & Elix are described from Austral ia. Lecanora arafurenesis, L. austrointumescens, and L. mobergiana bel ong to Lecanora sensu stricto, while L. contractuloides is placed in t he subgenus Placodium group, and L. placodiolica in the L. varia group .
