Abstract
An analytic calculation of the initial complex permeability frequency spectra of thin soft ferromagnetic films with in-plane anisotropy, usi ng Landau-Lifshitz theory, is presented. The influence of the thin fil ms' intrinsic parameters, such as saturation magnetization and anisotr opy field, on spectra is discussed. A broad band method is applied to determine the permeability spectra of Co-Zr and Co-Zr-Re thin films, i n the 0.3 MHz to 3 GHz frequency range. Theoretical and experimental r esults are compared. The influences of the anisotropy field and the an isotropy dispersion are analysed.
