The working group on Dynamics of Plasma wave Drivers considered the ev
olution of lasers and particle beams used to drive plasma wakes for pl
asma accelerators. In addition, the group developed a comparison table
of several laser and particle driven plasma accelerator designs. The
table shows that differences between the schemes are associated largel
y with the plasma densities at which they typically operate. Designs w
ith high plasma densities tend to have higher gradients and fewer stag
es but require repetition rates to achieve a given luminosity than des
igns at lower densities. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. A
