M. Tournour et N. Atalla, VIBROACOUSTIC BEHAVIOR OF AN ELASTIC BOX USING STATE-OF-THE-ART FEM-BEM APPROACHES, Noise control engineering journal, 46(3), 1998, pp. 83-90
State-of-the-art methods for the study of the vibroacoustic response o
f a rectangular box are presented. Fast and accurate approaches are us
ed for structural modeling, cavity coupling, and acoustic radiation mo
deling. A free interface component mode synthesis is used for the moda
l analysis of the box. The structural modes are then coupled to the ca
vity modes using a modal superposition technique. For radiation from t
he box, an indirect variational formulation is developed in terms of s
urface integral equations, A special integration scheme is used to han
dle singularities of the Green's function, In order to reduce signific
antly the computation time of the regular integrals, a new method base
d on expansion of the Green's function and its normal derivative in te
rms of spherical Bessel functions is used, The techniques presented ar
e validated and the results for a typical box problem are presented. (
