U. Sorum et al., STRUCTURAL STUDIES OF THE MAJOR POLYSACCHARIDE IN THE CELL-WALL OF RENIBACTERIUM-SALMONINARUM, Carbohydrate research, 306(1-2), 1998, pp. 305-314
The galactose-rich polysaccharide (GPS) in the cell wall of the Gram-p
ositive bacterium Renibacterium salmoninarum, the causative agent of b
acterial kidney disease (BKD) of salmonids, has been studied by sugar
and methylation analysis, partial acid hydrolysis, Smith degradation,
FABMS, and H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy. The data show that the GPS h
