Abstract
The first synthesis of an O-silylated derivative of a hexahomotriazaca lix[3]arene has been achieved using 1(trimethylsilyl)imidazole (TMSIM) , 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS), or bis(trimethylsilyl)trifl uoroacetamide (BSTFA) in acetronitrile. The cone isomer was formed sel ectively using TMSIM and HMDS; whereas a cone / partial cone mixture w as obtained using BSTFA. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights res erved.
