S. Ogasawara et H. Akagi, IMPLEMENTATION AND POSITION CONTROL PERFORMANCE OF A POSITION-SENSORLESS IPM MOTOR DRIVE SYSTEM BASED ON MAGNETIC SALIENCY, IEEE transactions on industry applications, 34(4), 1998, pp. 806-812
This paper describes position-sensorless control of an interior perman
ent magnet synchronous (IPM) motor, which is characterized by real-tim
e position estimation based on magnetic saliency. The real-time estima
tion algorithm detects motor current harmonics and determines the indu
ctance matrix, including rotor position information. An experimental s
ystem consisting of an IPM motor and a voltage-source pulsewidth modul
ation inverter has been implemented and tested to confirm the effectiv
eness and versatility of the approach. Some experimental results show
that the experimental system has the function of electrically locking
the loaded motor, along with a position response of 20 rad/s and a set
tling time of 300 ms.
