Abstract
This paper investigates a novel uninterruptible power supply (UPS) con figuration that features low EMI and draws unity power factor without the addition of a preregulator, A 100-Hz pulsating bus is used in cont rast to a smoothed de bus. The compound converter structure exhibits h igh efficiency. A 3.3-kW single-phase experimental converter is evalua ted.
