Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present analytical expressions of th e basic effective constants (for transducer applications) of fibrous p iezoelectric composites with a periodic structure, These expressions w ere obtained on the basis of the asymptotic averaging method, followin g the same procedure used in [I] for the purely elastic case. The aver aged electromechanical properties for these piezocomposites can be cal culated from the above formulas. The results obtained from the theoret ical predictions with the use of homogenization method show good agree ment with the existing experimental results.
