Lp. Rudenko, INTERACTION OF DOMINANT AND CONDITIONED REFLEX IN THE DYNAMICS OF GENERALIZATION PHENOMENON, Zurnal vyssej nervnoj deatelnosti im. I.P. Pavlova, 48(3), 1998, pp. 405-409
In dogs the generalization reaction to the stimuli of the same modalit
y was observed with equal intensity both at the early and late stages
of conditioning, while no generalization was observed to stimuli of di
fferent modalities. With increase in the level of the alimentary motiv
ation the generalization reaction began to be recorded to stimuli of d
ifferent modality. Thus, the spread and intensity of generalization de
pends on the strength of motivation. The persistence of generalization
suggests that the dominant which underlies the generalization phenome
non is retained for a long time and can exist in parallel with the sta
ble conditioned reflex.
