The paper analyses various methods far switching-off a faulty rectifie
r assembly in ice-deposit melting installations On overhead transmissi
on lines, other than by creating an artificial three-phase fault. Anal
ytical expressions are obtained for selecting a circuit breaker for va
rious methods of switching-off (three-phase or phase-by-phase on low-
