Abstract
Recent results of a large experiment with 66 provenances of Grand fir are presented (Tab. 1). The majority of the 27 sites belongs to the No rthwestern lowlands and the highlands of Western Germany (Tab. 2). Up to the age of 15 to 18 years the most vigorous and stable provenances came from the Olympic Peninsula, Puget Sound and Vancouver Island regi ons, whereas provenances from the High and Eastern Cascades grew consi derably poorer. Provenances from the Southern Oregon Coast were partly well growing too, but suffered from high losses (Fig. 3).
