Abstract
Spin-independent relativistic effect on binding and dissociation of he avy quarkonium in a thermal environment is stressed. The calculated re sult shows that the effect considerably influences the spin-averaged t hermal properties of the system. As a result, it should be considered in future experiments at RHIC.
