Abstract
DAAD hydrogen bond donor (D) and acceptor (A) arrays 1 were synthesize d and the recognition of the complementary ADDA substrates 2 and heter odimer formation by four hydrogen bonds was measured by H-1 NMR titrat ions. The binding energy of a sterically not crowded dimer is in accor dance with the value calculated from increments. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
