Abstract
phenyl(N-methoxy-N-methylcarbamoylmethyl)sulfoxide 1 is prepared in 2 steps starting from N-methoxy-N-methylchloroacetamide and thiophenol. Reagent 1 is useful for homologation of alkyl halides to alpha,beta-un saturated N-methoxy-N-methylamide compounds. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
