Abstract
Current data about psychology in Brazil is provided. The author summar izes a research project carried out to learn about new practices and t rends in the field. The different areas of psychology exhibit a strong movement towards more critical and committed approaches to social rea lity. The implications of this finding for psychologists training is t ouched upon.
