Abstract
A new layered cuprate, (Bi,M)Sr2(R,Ce)3Cu2011-delta (M = Cd, Cu; R: ra re earth elements) (Bi-based ''1232''), has been synthesized. The stru cture of the compounds has been determined by the powder X-my diffract ion method. It is found that the cell parameters are approximately equ al to a = 3.8 5 angstrom and c = 17 angstrom. Comparison of the calcul ated and observed diffraction intensities shows that the structures ar e similar to that of (Tl, Cu) Sr2 (R, Ce)3CU2011. The behavior of the resistivity dependence on temperature is directly related to the heat treatment.
