Abstract
Shake-up processes in the photoluminescence spectra of a two-dimension al electron gas in a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well at high magnetic fields are studied at a range of filling factors. We find that when the elect rons occupy only the lowest Landau level these processes are strongly suppressed. A peculiar dependence of a giant 'zeroth' shake-up line on temperature and filling factor is reported. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
