Abstract
We have demonstrated theoretically and experimentally the strong diele ctric enhancement of excitons in near-surface InGaAs/GaAs quantum well s, caused by the abrupt, one order of magnitude, decrease of the diele ctric constant at the semiconductor-vacuum interface.
