Abstract
Exact (both analytical and numerical) solutions for steady state stimu lated Brillouin scattering in single mode optical fibers are presented . The resulting solution is compared with the experiment. The threshol d for stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in single mode fibers is e xamined. Saturation and depletion phenomena are analyzed. (C) 1998 Els evier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
